Non-asbestos Materials/Paper

Non-asbestos Sheet and Paper Gasket Materials

These products are generally used as flange gaskets in a wide variety of applications. Temperatures handled by these materials range from –50°F up to 900°F for graphite sheet. We have several of these materials in stock and can custom make any gasket you need, from small quantities on manual presses to high volumes on fast CNC presses. Materials are available in many different thicknesses and widths. Please contact us with any questions you may have and allow us to help you create an effective solution.

Vulcanized Fiber (Fishpaper) - Chemically hardened paper with excellent dielectric strength and high friction and oil resistance. It is relatively inexpensive.

Cellulose Fiber – Used in applications requiring medium flange-bolt pressure. This product has some fuel resistance, but is degraded by acids and water. It can handle temperatures of 250°F.

Reinforced Cellulose Fiber – This gasket material is reinforced with a rubber binder, which adds resistance to some chemicals and limits moisture absorption, which can improve the seal. Used in applications requiring medium flange-bolt pressure and a maximum temperature of 350°F.

Reinforced Aramid Fiber – This material contains a rubber binder that helps to limit moisture absorption. It is used in applications requiring medium to heavy flange-bolt pressure. There are a variety of rubber binders available, and this material can handle temperatures up to 750°F. Thicknesses range from 1/64” to 1/16".

Reinforced Aramid Fiber/Compressed - This compressed material contains a rubber binder to help limit moisture absorption. It is used in applications requiring heavy flange-bolt pressure. There are a variety of rubber binders available, and this material can handle temperatures up to 750°F. Thickness ranges from 1/64" to 3/16".

Graphite Sheet – This product is used in very high temperature applications (900°F) and is expensive.
